SISD COVID-19 Update

January 12, 2022

Re: COVID Update

Dear Sanger ISD Families,

A quick COVID update as several schools in our area are closing due to COVID. As of

today, Sanger ISD plans on having school as normal on all district campuses for the

remainder of the week. We will be out of school on Monday, Jan. 17 in observation of

Martin Luther King Day, returning on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at our normal times.

The district is closely monitoring our COVID numbers for both our students and staff.

Fortunately for our students, when they are absent from school for COVID reasons, they

have access to remote instruction where they are counted present for attendance credit

and have access to the daily work and district staff to assist them on their work. It is when

our teaching staff is absent due to COVID that makes safely covering all the classrooms a

challenge. When we do not have enough district personnel to cover all students’

classrooms, this is when we would have to close a campus or district. With our current

COVID numbers, we are able to safely cover classrooms so school will continue as

normal. However, this could change on any given day.

Please know if and when this day comes, we will advertise our closures as soon as

possible, giving parents and guardians as much notice as possible. If we close, we would

communicate via our school messenger, district and campus social media pages, and on

our district website. If we do have to close and you are alerted via social media, we ask

that you share the post so we can contact as many families in a timely manner.

In summary, Sanger ISD will have classes as normal for the remainder of this week. If

the situation was to change in the future, we will communicate as soon as possible about

potential closures.

As always, the district and I appreciate all the support and understanding you give as we

continue to navigate our way through school and life with COVID.

Sanger ISD Superintendent
