Junior Duck Stamp Competition is a national art competition for the design of the Duck Stamp needed for hunting.  It is also a conservation lesson for migrating birds and their habitat.  The competition begins at the state level and then the artist's that wins best of show advances to nationals.  This year, 3 Sanger High School Students placed in state:  Whittney Kirkland won an honorable mention, Fernando Elias also won an honorable mention and Audrey Springer won a 3rd place ribbon.  There were a total of 268 participants for the competition.
49th Annual NCTC Community Art Show held last month in Gainesville, Whittney Kirkland took a 1st place ribbon for her colored pencil painting of a Wood Duck and Kimberlee Sebastian won an honorable mention.  Both girls were in Division IV of the Youth Division.
William Hanifan won 2nd place at the Denton County High School Show earning him a $50 prize and his art work on Display at the Denton County Courthouse on the Square until April 10th.

 Chloe Howard wins State in FCCLA Competition!

Chloe competed in the Nutrition and Wellness category. She created "Chloe's Challenge" which helped participants monitor healthy living. At State Chloe presented her project and after earning State Champion, she will compete in a National Competition in Washington D.C. this summer.
