Our last Career Development Team competed this weekend at the Texas Tech Area CDE contest and placed 3rd in our Area. Their 3rd place finish qualified them for the state contest to be held at the end of the month at Texas A&M University. Tatum Whitewood (10th Grade) placed 2nd Overall in our area and was 11th in the entire contest with 4 other areas competing. Also, Autumn Kirksey (10th Grade) was 8th High Individual in our area. Other team members include Tara Whitely (9th Grade), David Wright (10th Grade), and Kielee Whitewood (8th Grade) who was an alternate.  
Natalie Ly won 3rd place at the Denton County High School Show on April 7th.

  • AG Success

    Senior Brooke Rudder received a letter naming her as a recipient of the State Fair of Texas Scholarship. The State Fair of Texas awards $6,000 scholarships to selected applicants who have competed in specific competitive youth livestock events held at the State Fair.


     Autumn Kirksey (10th Grade) placed 14th Overall in the Meats Evaluation contest out of 244 competitors and Tatum Bowden (9th Grade) placed 26th Overall in the Wool Judging contests out of 237 participants. Then the Meats Evaluation and Wool Judging Teams traveled to the Angelo Invitational where  Tatum Whitewood (10th Grade) placed 7th Overall in the Meats Evaluation Contest and the team placed 13th Overall. Pictured below is Autumn Kirksey.


     The Wool Judging Team placed 3rd as a team and qualified for the state contest to be held at Texas Tech University next week. Tatum Bowden (9th Grade) was named 2nd High Individual and David Wright (10th Grade) was 8th High Individual out of 56 participants. Other team members include Gus McNairy (11th Grade) and Tanner McQuien (10th Grade).
